This 2-hour program begins the morning of the helicopter accident that killed Bryant, Bryant's daughter and seven others including pilot. It moves ahead to a status report on the NTSB investigation and the void Bryant's death left in the business world and the African American community.

The Death and Life of Kobe Bryant chronicles how the crash was covered by the media, including comments made about TMZ Sports by the Los Angeles County Sheriff. The program explores the public disbelief of losing such a cultural icon and beloved member of the Los Angeles Lakers in such a shocking and surprising way.
