Covino & Rich are in for The Dan Patrick Show, and they’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of halftime shows the NFL has been producing for their holiday games. In their efforts to dominate sports programming on Thanksgiving and Christmas, they aren’t waiting for the Super Bowl to bring out the star power.
Rich Davis: “But this year, there's been an emphasis that Super Bowl is not the only game in town, because these games on Christmas and Thanksgiving, they have like 50 million viewers, so it's almost like Super Bowl lite now. I think you're done. Done are the days of throwaway halftime shows, because if the NFL is going to try to own Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think you're going to see like secondary to the Super Bowl type halftime shows.”
Steve Covino: “And it's a win-win for everybody.”
