Freddie Freeman Reacts To Being Reunited To Jason Heyward Signing

The Dodgers have announced today that they have signed Gold Glove outfielder Heyward to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League camp.

One person who is very excited to have reunion with his former teammate from the Atlanta Braves is Freddie Freeman. Freeman took to social media to welcome Heyward to the Dodgers.

Heyward, 33, has been one of baseball’s best defensive outfielders since he debuted with the Atlanta Braves in 2010. He is 15th among all active players in defensive WAR (11.0).

Heyward’s defensive runs saved (DRS) tallied above 10 in each of his first eight seasons. He had a positive DRS every year prior to 2022, when he was at -3 in 47 defensive games (26 games in center field, 21 in right field).
