Framber Valdez pitched against the Phillies on Saturday night. He gave Houston the longest start in a World Series game since 2019, holding Philadelphia to one run over 6 1/3 innings. But many fans noticed something a little off.

During Game 2, viewers pointed out on social media several things that seemed off with Valdez, including what looked like a substance on his hand and appearing to change his glove during the game.

After the game, Valdez explained that he typically has different cleats that he wears during warmups and that he decided to wear his warmup cleats to start the game, but that after a long inning, he decided to change things up. Here is what he said to reporters:

“I had a long inning there and I was like, ‘You know what I’m going to change everything. I’m going to change my glove, my belt, my cleats,’" Valdez said. "Those are just things that us Dominicans do just some tendencies here and there. I even changed my mechanics I think at one point, but just things to stay loose.”

The 1-1 series now shifts to Philadelphia where the Astros can likely expect a hostile crowd.
