As the MLB offseason nears, all eyes will be on one name this winter.
The end of New York's season means the end of their contractual control over Judge, who now will hit free agency for the first time. After the ALCS loss vs. the Houston Astros, the likely American League MVP talked about free agency this winer.
“I’ve been clear about that since I first wore the pinstripes. But we couldn’t get something done before spring training and now I'm a free agent and we’ll see what happens.”
Whether Judge decides to stay or go, he will be getting a giant payday.
Judge had a monster year with: 62 home runs, RBI (131), on-base percentage (.425), slugging percentage (.686), on-base plus slugging (1.111), OPS+ (211) and total bases (391) this season. Not only that, he led American League with 111 walks, and was second with a .311 batting average.
