Craig Kimbrel will likely be taken out of the closer role according to Dave Roberts.
Dave Roberts confirmed that Craig Kimbrel won’t be closing games any more. He said that he will look for other roles to use him in for rest of regular season and would not talk about what will happen in the postseason yet.
Kimbrel has served up 4 earned runs over his last 4 appearances following a nice stretch of outings early in September. Hitters are OPSing 1.221 against him over that span and his season ERA has climbed to 4.14.
