Justin Turner & Austin Barnes Say Goodbye To AJ Pollock After Trade

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed their first trade of the offseason on Friday as they acquired Craig Kimbrel the new closer from the Chicago White Sox for AJ Pollock. After the trade was completed, two of Pollock’s former teammates, Justin Turner and Austin Barnes, posted farewell messages on social media.

Justin Turner:

Southside Chicago is getting a great man! @ajpollock_ gonna miss you and all the locker room talks brotha. #NFTs #StockMarket #Wish and #AnotherHouseIsComing Wishing you nothing but the best! Good luck #11

Austin Barnes:

What a teammate and financial advisor AJ Pollock 🐐

Pollock was set to earn $13 million in 2022 for the Dodgers, and they’ve essentially saved $2 million by taking on Kimbrel’s $16 million in the final year of his contract. Now, Kimbrel will become the Dodgers’ closer following Kenley Jansen’s departure and Pollock will take over in right field, providing the White Sox a great right hand at bat.
