Baseball fans can rejoice because the lockout is over and we can get back to baseball. So what next?
Players can report to spring-training camps as early as tomorrow March 11th. Opening Day is expected to be April 7. reported. Transactions unfreeze upon ratification, which is expected to come as early as today, meaning free agents can sign and trades can occur.
After many hours at the negotiating table and many more hours spent tweeting about what was happening at said table the MLB lockout is over as the Free Press can confirm. Multiple reports suggest that the players voted in favor of the owners' latest proposal, 26-12, but that the union's eight-player executive board voted against the proposal.
Free agency will open tonight and players could make moves as they please.
