Justin Verlander Reportedly Wants To Play Out West

Could the Los Angeles Dodgers be in the mix to land 39-year old Justin Verlander? They certainly seem to be in the mix.

According to Chris McCosky, he doesn't see Justin Verlander reuniting with the Detroit Tigers. Instead, he thinks Verlander has other plans. Here is what he said:

No matter how many people I talk to that say it is highly unlikely the Tigers and Verlander reconnect, there's always going to be others who say it's possible. Still say best bet is he goes west, Angels, Dodgers, Giants.

Verlander has not pitched in the majors since undergoing Tommy John surgery during the 2020 COVID-shortened season. Although he is 39-years-old, the righty captured the second Cy Young Award of his career during his last full-campaign in 2019.
