Albert Pujols Talks About Possibly Playing In The 2022 Season

Could Albert Pujols return for a 2022 season?

Albert Pujols spoke with the media in the DR and here is what he had to say about next season:

"I’ve always said that I’m going to retire when I feel it's time. I don’t think that my time has come yet."

Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana side Leones de Escogido announced on that they have acquired Pujols from the Gigantes del Cibao via a trade. Gigantes del Cibao drafted Pujols in the LIDOM’s draft in 2002.

The season runs until January, although it is not known whether Pujols aspires to play the entirety of the campaign.

Pujols featured in a combined 118 total games over the previous campaign with both the Dodgers and Angels. Pujols was called upon to heavily feature against left-handed pitchers. Overall, he often found success in such matchups over the year, and hit .294 and recorded 13 home runs in 139 at-bats against them.
