911 Call Leading Up To Richard Sherman's Arrest Has Been Released

Audio of the 911 call made by Richard Sherman's wife has been released, and it’s horrific as it suggests Sherman is going through a serious struggle with mental health and alcohol abuse, and it revealed the back and forth between Sherman's wife and the 911 dispatcher.

“I need officers to my house now. My husband is drunk and belligerent and threatened to kill himself,” the caller, who identified herself as Ashley Sherman, said at the beginning of the call, which was obtained by KIRO in Seattle.

Sherman has not been charged in connection with the single-car crash. He is currently being held at King County Correctional Facility in Seattle, Washington without bail. The former Seattle Seahawks star is expected to receive bail once he sees a judge.

Sherman has not issued a public statement, but the National Football League Player's Association has commented on the matter. The NFLPA's statement did not identify Sherman by name, but the organization is looking into the arrest.
