Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner and his wife, Kourtney, will hold the Turner Trot Virtual 5K, May 14-16, to benefit the Justin Turner Foundation.
Registration is open until May 1st and participants can register at https://justinturnerfoundation.com/jtf5k. To comply with local health and safety guidelines, this yearâs race will be virtual, which means participants register, record a 5K (3.1 mile) run or walk on your own or with your family/friends, input your time on the website and enjoy your swag bag.
The Turner Trot Virtual 5K is sponsored by the Dodgers, the Walter Family Foundation, Eldridge, Jim Beam, Sun Mar Healthcare and CalMHSA.
âUnfortunately, like many others this past year, weâve had to postpone or cancel our major events for our foundation due to the pandemic,â said Justin Turner. âWe have thrown the idea around of a 5K for a while and thought it would be a perfect solution to host a âTurner Trot 5K" virtually this year. This allows participants to be active, safely join their family and friends outdoors, and still raise money for a great cause.
âWe are grateful for the countless fans that have reached asking how they can support our foundation during this unprecedented time,â said Kourtney Turner. âWe briefly mentioned the 5K on our podcast and have already had a great response, which shows the generosity and selflessness of Dodger fansâ hearts. We will get back to our annual events when the time is right, but for now, we will pivot in order to keep serving those in need. We cannot wait to see everyoneâs photos and videos of their Turner Trot and look forward to following along on everyoneâs fundraising efforts. The causes we support need us now more than ever, and we look forward to seeing the impact this event can have on our community.â
Three registration tiers are available. MVP is $75 and includes an exclusive Baseballism hat and an adidas sack pack, as well as additional items. All-Star tier is $50 and includes a JTF JUNK brand headband and an adidas waist pack, as well as additional items. The Major League Tier is $45 and includes the Turner Trot t-shirt, finisher medal as well as additional items.
Participants also have the option to create a fundraising page and the top four fundraisers will receive autographed items--
