The Astros sign-stealing scandal has not been forgotten by nobody and especially not this security guard during a Miami Marlins game.
According to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle, a member of the security team at the Marlins’ Roger Dean Stadium spent Alex Bregman’s entire plate appearance banging on a trash can. Bregman is likely going to have to hear it from the crowds because due to the lack of crowds last year, he’s probably going to have to take some of this in 2021.
Baseball fans everywhere have taken any opportunity possible to blast them. This has been going on for a while and there’s no sign of things stopping anytime soon in the near future. While the security guard and the fans at spring training got a good laugh on Sunday, though, we probably shouldn’t expect team employees to do this going forward.
Bregman hit only .242 last year with six home runs. Improving those numbers would silence some of the critics.
