San Francisco 49ers fans are already picturing a potential Deshaun Watson trade to the bay area after it is being reported that he is unhappy with the Houston Texans organization.
After a Niners fan page posted a picture on Instagram of Watson wearing a Joe Montana jersey, the Houston Texans star replied with a comment just moments after it was posted.
San Francisco has been mentioned an ideal landing spot for Watson if he wants to move on from the Texans. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds in the NFL, and the 49ers can move on from Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason with minimal salary-cap implications. Watson signed a four-year, $156 million extension with Houston back in September, just before the start of the 2020 season, but a brutal year led to the dismissal of head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien midseason.
Texans Chairman and CEO Cal McNair told Fox 26's Mark Berman on Friday that it is "no secret" Watsonwas frustrated with the GM hiring process, as Houston brought in former New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.
