Vanessa Bryant is going back at the Los Angeles County Sheriff, after he issued a $175,000 reward challenge to basketball star LeBron James in connection with the shootings that occurred in Compton, California.
Bryant shared a series of Instagram Live stories on that made her perspective clear. Vanessa Bryant also shared the headline and story from a May articlein the Hollywood Reporterthat read, “L.A. County Sheriff Sued by Union to Keep Graphic Kobe Picture Investigation Private.”
"Eight deputies are accused of sharing images from the helicopter crash site. The union for deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is suing Sheriff Alex Villanueva to keep an internal affairs investigation into the alleged distribution of graphic Kobe Bryant crash-site photos private.”
“That was my No. 1 priority, was to make sure those photos no longer exist,” Villanueva said at the time, according to THR.
Villanueva was the officer who made comments about LeBron James. Here is what he said:
This challenge is to LeBron James. I want you to match that and double that reward. I know you care about law enforcement. You expressed a very interesting statement about your perspective on race relations and on officer involved shootings and the impact that it has on the African American community. And I appreciated that. But likewise, we need to appreciate that respect for life goes across all platforms.
