Kenley Jansen Will Not Opt Out Of His Deal, Will Return To The Dodgers

Kenley Jansen will remain under the Dodgers control for the next two years.

According to Jon Heyman, Kenley Jansen will not opt of the $38M and 2 years remaining on his contract and will return with the team next season. This past season, Kenley finished with the highest ERA of his career and his strikeout-per-nine ratio was the second lowest of his career.

In other news today, the Dodgers made a 40-man roster move. They added 23-year-old picher Victor González. He appeared in 38 games last season across Rancho Cucamonga, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. In his outings, he went 5-2 with a 2.31 ERA. In 892⁄3innings, he struck out 93 and walked 32.

This is the first move in regards to the 40-man roster, but it looks like there will be plenty more coming soon. Four Dodgers are now officially free agents Rich Hill, Russell Martin, Hyun-Jin Ryu and David Freese who has already said a few weeks ago that he is set to retire.
