Executives Believe LaMelo Ball Could Be The #1 Pick In The 2020 Draft

LaMelo Ball is now being named as a true contender to be taken with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. According to Jonathan Givony, he writes that the 18-year-old’s play in Australia has absolutely scouts and executives.

Ball’s development over the course of the past few seasons, now on display as a member of the Illawarra Hawks of Australia’s National Basketball League, combined with his plus-size make him a compelling prospect. According to an executive that talked to Heavy.com, LaMelo Ball is already impressing other NBA executives.

“He’s already an elite passer,” one front-office executive said. “He has great vision, he has great creativity, a lot like his brother that way. He is probably ahead of where his brother was on that. But then you add the size and some of the other skills, and he’s an obviously exciting player. He is a far better shooter than his brother, too. He will be in the mix for the first overall pick."

Of course there's no sure fire No. 1 pick in the draft yet, but some candidates for the spot include Deni Avdija of Israel and Theo Maledon of France.
