Dave Roberts Says The Dodgers Will Call Up Gavin Lux And Will Start At 2B

Dave Roberts has announced that Gavin Lux will be called up and starting tomorrow at second base.

A couple of weeks ago, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that on September 1st, expect the Dodgers to call up the 21-year old phenom. Here is what Ken Rosenthal had to say about where Lux would fit in the Dodgers lineup.

One team official recently referred to Lux as a player "still in our holster." Another said the Dodgers could find at-bats for the versatile Chris Tayor and Kiké Hernandez, both of whom recently came off the injured list, even if Lux entered the mix.

Lux was a first round pick out of Indian Trail High school Triple-A pitching with the franchise’s Oklahoma City Dodgers, and posted a .392/.478/.719/1.197 with 18 doubles, four triples, 13 home runs and 39 RBI in only 49 games with the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate.

The Dodgers at the trade deadline did not make any major moves due to the asking price being too high from teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates. Any move that were to be made at the time for a top reliever need to include Gavin Lux.
