Colin Kaepernick Posts Workout Video, Says He's Still Ready For NFL Return

Colin Kaepernick has not played in an NFL game since 2016. During the past three years, Kaepernick continued to work hard to stay in shape as he struggled to find a team willing to sign him. He shared a workout video on Instagram, saying that he is "still ready" to make his NFL return.

The video starts off with a counter reminding people that he has been denied work for 889 days. The short clip then cuts to Kaepernick lifting weights in the gym and showing off his impressive strength.

Kaepernick came under fire after he started taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice in the United States. While a growing number of players, both in the NFL and other sports, took a knee in solidarity with him, many fans, politicians, and pundits accused him of disrespecting the flag and the country.

At the end of the 2016 season, Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, making him a free agent. Despite his history of on-the-field success, no team was willing to sign Kaepernick to be their starting quarterback.

In 2017, he filed a grievance with the league accusing the owners of colluding to keep him from playing. He resolved the grievance in February and will reportedly receive $10 million.
