With Dodgers catcher Will Smith making his major league debut, many fans awaited to see what his walk-up song would be. He made the obvious choice.
As he was walking up to bat, Dodger Stadium roared loud when they heard the Fresh Prince theme song as he made his way to the plate. Shortly after, he singled past the shortstop to notch his first hit in the majors.
Smith, the Dodgers’ Number 5 ranked prospect by MLB.com, had his contract selected Monday. He had a .290/.404/.551 slash line with eight home runs in 38 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, and his defensive skills have been praised since he was drafted in the first round out of Louisville in 2016.
