It has been a frustrating season so far in 2019 for the Los Angeles Lakers. They are currently 30-33 and now according to Marc Stein of The New York Times, it looks like the Lakers are leaning towards parting ways with coach Luke Walton.
The prevailing assumption in league coaching circles remains that Walton will almost certainly be dismissed after the season, followed by the Lakers resuming their trade quest for Davis. But denying Walton an opportunity to at finish out a season wrought with drama and distraction since James’s first dribble in purple and gold would be cruel and needless.
This is something that many people expected after a couple of poor seasons with the Lakers. They have already been linked to several different coaches already including one of James’ former coaches in Tyronn Lue.
The Lakers take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at Staples Center and is on the outside looking in the playoff picture.
