NBA Investigating Whether Lakers Had Contact With Ben Simmons

Things could be getting very rocky for the Los Angeles Lakers heading into the All-Star Break. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the league is looking into whether or not the Lakers had contact with Ben Simmons.

The league office is looking into whether any contact took place between Ben Simmons and the Los Angeles Lakers that violate NBA rules.

Here is a timeline of events for the Los Angeles Lakers:

April 2017- Magic Johnson went on Jimmy Kimmel and made comments about Paul George. Magic and the Lakers were warned by the NBA to make comments like that anymore.

August 2017- Lakers were fined $500,000 after general manager Rob Pelinka made contact with Paul George's agent which, according to the league, "constituted a prohibited expression of interest in the player while he was under contract."

June 2018- The Lakers were fined $50,000 by the NBA for another violation of the league's anti-tampering rule after team president Magic Johnson recently praised Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

If Magic Johnson and the Lakers made contact with Ben Simmons, this would be the 4th violation.
