We have gone into the new year with J.T. Realmuto still a Marlin and Bryce Harper and Manny Machado looking for a home. Our insider David Vassegh reported all the way back in November that the Marlins want a young Dodgers asset like Cody Bellinger in a deal for catcher J.T. Realmuto. Fast forward to January 4th, and it definitely looks like nothing has changed at all.
Reports are now that The Marlins are not wavering. They want a top 0-3 year player, someone like Cody Bellinger or Ozzie Albies, and on top of that they want some good prospects to add to that.
Realmuto is coming off a career season in which he earned by batting .277/.340/.484 with 30 doubles, 21 home runs and 74 RBI. As of right now the two teams are at a complete standstill.
