Dodgers Are Reportedly Front-Runners To Land J.T. Realmuto

With the Mets signing Wilson Ramos to a two year contract, it essentially takes them out of the J.T. Realmuto sweepstakes. Now, the Dodgers look to be frontrunners to land the catcher.

According to Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers are now the favorite to acquire Realmuto from the Marlins with Yasiel Puig being one of the players they would like to acquire in exchange for him. The Mets were one of the main teams linked to Realmuto at the winter meetings and there were even rumors of a proposed three-way trade with the Yankees that would have involved pitcher Noah Syndergaard. Instead the Mets went ahead and signed one of the best catchers on the market.

The Dodgers before the meetings had talks with the Marlins to acquire J.T. Realmuto but the Marlins wanted to have Cody Bellinger included in a deal according to our insider David Vassegh. Six other teams are reportedly still interested in those talks.
