A Thanksgiving dinner that was suppose to be a time of giving and thanks turned into a nightmare for a family in North Carolina.
According to CBS-17, A North Carolina man is charged with shooting his son on Thanksgiving Day after a heated argument over national anthem protests between his kids.
According to the warrant, witnesses told police that the victim had been drinking heavily throughout the day before the physical and verbal confrontation that led to the shooting occurred.
Lamadrid told police that his family had just sat down to have Thanksgiving dinner when two of his sons got into an argument about athletes taking a knee during the national anthem, warrants show. He then retrieved a shotgun when he was unable to separate his two sons after their argument turned physical.
When the shot was fired it struck Lamadrid’s 21-year-old son in the hand and the leg. The father was arrested and now faces a charge of aggravated assault.
