The Dodgers acquired Brian Dozier at the non-waiver trade deadline this season after having an eye on him for a little over a year and a half. This season, Dozier didn't have the season that him or the Dodgers were expecting. But according to John Heyman, he reported that he was dealing with a bone bruise throughout the season.
Brian Dozier toughed it out and played with a severe bone bruise all 2018, which explains his uncharacteristic season.
Dozier hit a combined 21 home runs which was his lowest total since 2014 when he hit two more than that. This past September, Dozier announced that he was dealing with a knee issue but never revealed the extent of his injury. Dozier is currently a free agent.
