Reds Name Turner Ward As Their New Hitting Coach

The Cincinnati Reds have officially announced Dodgers Turner Ward as their new hitting coach.

We are pleased to have Turner join our staff. He has mentored a number of successful hitters in both Arizona and Los Angeles. He comes highly recommended for his ability to connect with players and to help them maximize their potential."

Ward wasn't the only one to leave for a managerial job the last two weeks. Over the weekend, third base coach Chris Woodyard took the managerial job with the Texas Rangers. Turner Ward has been exceptional the last couple season with the Dodgers. They hit 235 homers in 2018 and their 564 extra-base hits and .442 slugging percentage set Los Angeles franchise records.

The next move we are currently waiting on by the Dodgers is the possible contract extension for Dave Roberts. Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi said in the press conference shortly after the World Series loss that they have started contract extension talks.
