Walker Buehler Is A Finalist For NL Rookie Of The Year

After a sensational rookie season with the Dodgers, it has been announced that pitcher Walker Buehler is one of the finalists for the NL Rookie of the Year award. He joins Atlanta Braves rookie Ronald Acuña Jr. and Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto as finalists.

This season, the Dodgers relied on the young talent of Walker Buehler, He pitched outstanding in Game 163 against the Colorado Rockies, Game 7 of the NLCS vs. the Braves and more recently, Game 3 of the World Series vs. the Red Sox. The Dodgers know they are in good hands down the line.

In his first season with the Dodgers, he went 8-5 with a 2.62 ERA, 3.04 FIP and 0.96 WHIP in 137.1 innings across 24 games (23 starts). He struck out 151 compared to just 37 walks in 137.1 innings.

Cody Bellinger won NL Rookie of the Year in 2017, Corey Seager won it in 2016, and if Walker Buehler could win the award this year, it would be three straight years where a Dodgers player would win the award.
