After sending off Khalil Mack before the start of the season, the Raiders have made another big trade.
The Raiders have sent wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a first round pick in the 2019 NFL draft according to former player Jerraud Powers. In the last two seasons combined Cooper has caught 70 passes for 960 yards and eight touchdowns which has been a big decline compared to his numbers the first couple seasons in the league.
For the Dallas Cowboys, they finally get their #1 receiver that they have been desperately looking for all season long. At 3-4 in the NFC East, anything can happen in this long season especially with the Eagles and Giants not looking great this season.
The Raiders traded away a big time receiver, but they set themselves up perfectly for the future. They now have $74 million in cap space as well as three-first round picks that will be used in the 2019 draft which allows Gruden to construct the team that he wants going forward.
The 2019 NFL is a draft that Gruden controls, and we will see what the team will look in the years going forward before judgements on this trade.
