The Dodgers try to solve their bullpen issue by trading for right-handed reliever Ryan Madson from the Washington Nationals in exchange for Minor League pitcher Andrew Istler.
Madson was placed on revocable waivers early this week and the Dodgers put a claim just in time for the 38-year-old to be eligible for the postseason.
After Brandon Morrows departure to the Cubs in the off-season and with Kenley Jansen's availability uncertain, Madson will look to patch up the leaks in the Dodgers defense.
Madson has the experience as he won a World Series with the Phillies and the Royals. He also has two seasons with at least 30 saves to with a 2.85 ERA in 46 postseason games.
