Is Shaquille O’Neal Opening a Restaurant Downtown LA?

If you've been missing Shaquille O'Neal down at the Los Angeles Staples Center then don't fret. The retired Lakers player is coming back - only this time as a restaurateur. Quick news broke of the restaurant possibly occupying the touristy hub just a few days ago when an Alcohol Beverage Control license from the city was drawn up for a “general eating place.” On the license, there's a clear reading showing you the name of the new dining joint. How many Shaquille's do you know that have ties to the LA Staples Center area? Hmm.

Although Shaq's name isn't officially listed on the form, which is no surprise, the project is managed by a limited liability company that shares the same address as PRP in Las Vegas.

We're getting warmer.

Eater reports that PRP is a prominent sports management company that has an impressive clientele including Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving, and Shaquille O'Neal

The address on the ABC license points to the new hot spot occupying the former The Farm of Beverly Hills. Now we just wonder what kind of cuisine he's going to shoot for? Steakhouse? American classic? Soul Food? Louisiana Creole? All sound delicious.

The whole idea doesn't seem too far off for the NBA legend. Variety reported that the big guy is filming an eight-episode reality show for Facebook centering around his opening of a Las Vegas chicken restaurant. The eatery will be called “The Big Chicken” and serve up a full variety of chicken specialties.
