Football analyst, Albert Breer, joined the Petros and Money show to talk about Sam Darnold and if he will end up as starter this season for the New York Jets.
"Well I think part of it is that he doesn't have to win right away and like you know in Cleveland Baker Mayfield might be only playing for Hugh Jackson for one year...I think the Jets went through a lot of that transition last year, where they were tearing down that old roster. All those guys were gone and they were sort of resetting and theres was a good feeling in the building for the first time in a wild and its built around guys for under 25-years-old. So Sam goes in there and look there's not a lot of great big name talent there yet but they got better in the last few years and they did it with younger guys and there is a better feeling in the building in the years previous and now they feel like that got someone they can build on and he gets to go to work with Jeremy Bates whose done very well with young quarterbacks in the past. I am not sitting here telling you that he is walking into a great situation. The Jets have been bad for most of the last five years for a reason but I don't think you need to go in there and win eight or nine games right away. If he has a chance to, if he performs well enough he's going to have a chance to play, he's got a good environment around him. There's definitely been a better feeling in that organization than there has been in some time and I don't think they are going to need a coaching change after the year. So I feels to me like there might be some things for Sam Darnold that might not be quite the same in the other places."
