Zeke Upshaw Dies After Collapsing In G-League Game

The professional basketball community has been rocked by tragedy.

Zeke Upshaw, a member of the G League's Grand Rapids Drive, died Monday — two days after collapsing on the court.

The Drive released the following statement from Zeke's mother, Jewell Upshaw:

“After continued efforts from the medical team at Spectrum Health, Zeke made his transition at 11:16 am. To family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans & confidants, thank you for your prayers and support during this most difficult time."

Upshaw went undrafted after spending three seasons at Illinois State and one at Hofstra. He was in his second season with the Drive.
