NFL Could Eliminate Kickoffs

We'll have to come up with a new word for the start of a football game if the NFL eliminates kickoffs from the game.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick show, NFL VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent said the league could consider getting rid of the kickoff as they're looking at safety data to improve the game.

Vincent admits that there could be resistance from traditionalists but college, high school and Pee-Wee football is looking at changes as well.

Vincent said a group will meet next week to discuss the issue, but there will not be a vote on eliminating the kickoff.
