While it's no secret that Europeans love their football, they seem very confused when it comes to American football — in particular the NFL.
According to a recent poll, 72 percent of Europeans think that there's an American football team named the Seattle Seagulls. They also believe that same, not real team, plays in the NFL.
It's not just Europeans that are confused, though. Even worse, 14 percent of Americans also thought the Seagulls were a team.
Americans do not have much right to be judgmental, considering we failed miserably on the questions about soccer.
A prime example: more than half of the 1,000 polled didn't know there are 11 players on the field for each team, 45 percent of Americans didn't know how long a soccer game lasts, and 39 percent believed that soccer players always wear jockstraps.
