The finalists for the 2018 Basketball Hall of Fame class were unveiled on Saturday, a group consisting of eight players, three coaches, one referee, and one record-setting team.
Headlining the former players are point guards Jason Kidd and Steve Nash, who combined to make a total of 18 All-Star Games during their NBA careers, and Ray Allen, the league's career leader in three-pointers made. Nash, a two-time MVP,
Maurice Cheeks, Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Katie Smith and Tina Thompson round out the player finalists. Coaches Charles “Lefty” Driesell, Rudy Tomjanovich and Kim Mulkey were named as finalists, as well as referee Hugh Evans and the 1956-58 Wayland Baptist University women’s basketball teams.
The Class of 2018 will be announced on Saturday, March 31 ahead of the NCAA Men's Final Four, with the enshrinement set for September 6-8, 2018 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
