Malcolm Butler Breaks Silence On Super Bowl Benching

Defensive back Malcolm Butler, who was infamously benched ahead of the Patriots' Super Bowl loss to the Eagles, has released a statement on social media discrediting 'false' and 'hurtful' reports about the cause of his benching.

Reports to come out following the game have suggested Butler missed the team's curfew.

Butler's absence on the defensive side of the ball was perplexing, and became a driving force of discussion following a loss in which the Patriots were torched by Eagles QB Nick Foles.

Foles went on to win Super Bowl MVP honors after passing for 373 passing yards and compiling four total touchdowns.
