Beloved Dodgers scout Mel Didier passes away at 90

A sad day for Dodgers fans everywhere, as longtime scout Mel Didier has passed away. 

Didier, a beloved baseball man, is most famous for the scouting report he gave Kirk Gibson on Dennis Eckersley before Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.

"Partner, sure as I'm standing here breathing, he's going to throw you a 3-2 backdoor slider."

The rest is history.
