Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball has injected excitement into the NBA Summer League, and the versatile guard made his debut in the Purple and Gold on Friday against the Clippers.
Ball finished the game with five points on 2-for-15 shooting, four rebounds, five assists, two steals, three turnovers and one block. The Clippers won the contest in overtime, 96-93.
The poor shooting display will be overblown, although Lakers fans were certainly hoping for a better start to the Lonzo Ball era. It should also be noted that Ball showed some promise defensively throughout the night.
The sequence below -- where Clippers forward Brice Johnson puts a nasty spin move on Ball, before throwing down a ferocious slam --was not one of his finer defensive moments.
For Lakers fans in need of a pick-me-up, this alley-oop dish to Brandon Ingram should brighten your mood.
