Dave Roberts indicated on Friday afternoon that Cody Bellinger would likely be sent back down to the minors once the team was back to full strength. With Bellinger catching fire at the plate, though, it is no longer such a simple decision.
After a slow start, Bellinger has been one of the Dodgers' top offensive assets in recent days. He has only seen playing time in the outfield so far at the MLB level, but it is no secret that he is the team's future at first base.
This raises the question: with Adrian Gonzalez seeing a drop-off in production and possibly struggling with a nagging elbow injury, is it time to give Bellinger some action at first base?
