While San Diego officials may be inquiring about bringing the Raiders to town in wake of their recent relocation struggles, one of the city's most iconic sports figures staunchly stands against the idea.
Retired Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson spoke on the topic during the lead-up to Super Bowl 51, and was rather blunt in his opinion.
These revelations are not at all surprising. The Raiders and Chargers share a unique AFC West rivalry, and one that seems to carry a bit more animosity on the Chargers side. In recent years, stories of Raiders fans taking over San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium had graced national headlines and become a sore spot for the Chargers faithful.
Fortunately for Tomlinson, it does not appear the Raiders will be heading to San Diego anytime soon based on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's recent comments.
