Julio Urias Continues To Show Progress In His Recovery (VIDEO)

Julio Urias posted a video to his Instagram account on Tuesday, providing what Dodgers fans will hope to be a sign of more good things to come.

Urias is fighting his way back from a shoulder injury that kept him sidelined for a large chunk of the 2017 season. The talented left-handed pitcher underwent anterior capsule surgery on his left shoulder last June, with an estimated recovery time initially set at 12-14 months. This timeline could return Urias back to action after the All Star Break.

The Dodgers have no plans to rush Urias back, but the recent social media activity will certainly serve up the fan base with a dose of positivity about his eventual return.

Urias posted the caption "Paciencia..Fé..cree..confía y trabaja duro⚾️!! #NEVERGIVEUP" to go along with the video, which translates to "Patience..faith..believe..trust and work hard."

Back in January Urias discussed goals for his recovery. Below is an excerpt of what he said, Per TrueBlueLA

“There is a goal but I don’t think about that. I think about it more as a day-to-day thing,” Urias said. “I worry about the pain not hurting every day, feeling healthy day to day, and getting healthy. Hopefully we can reach that goal. Right now I’m not thinking about that.”

Last season Urias got off to a strong start allowing 2 earned runs on his first 3 starts before things went south. The southpaw was sent down to the minors after giving up 6 runs over his next 6.1 innings.

Urias stretch in 2016 was solid, giving him an ERA of 3.39, 84 strikeouts and only allowing 5 home runs.
