Things have gone really well for Matthew Stafford every since he left the Detroit Lions last offseason. Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl winning quarterback Matthew Stafford could get as much as $45 million per year in a new contract according to the Athletic.

A new deal for Stafford is a “priority” for the Rams this offseason, according to the source, and could dictate what the team does in the upcoming free agency period.  The Rams could offer the 34-year-old a three to four year contract extension after winning the Super Bowl, as they seem more than happy with the result of his performance of the 2021 season.

Stafford had a monster year as he went 12-5 last season while throwing for 41 TD's and finishing off the year with his first ever Super Bowl title. He was previously on a 5-year $135M contract that he signed with the Detroit Lions in 2017 with the 2022 season being the last year of the contract.

Stafford is likely to be rewarded handsomely for the upcoming seasons as part of a core piece of the Rams ball club.
