Last season, Dustin May was on the mound against the Milwaukee Brewers and left the game with an injury just a few innings in to it. May underwent an MRI that revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) and he underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery shortly after that. Andrew Friedman spoke with the Los Angeles Times and provided an update on Dustin May at the GM meetings:

Dustin May, who had Tommy John surgery in May, has begun his throwing program and is on track to return after the All-Star break in 2022. “Everything to this point has been incredibly positive,” Friedman said.
“I think he is going to impact us at some point in the second half. And if we’re fortunate enough to get into October, I think he’ll be a real weapon for us.

Dustin May about a week ago took to Instagram to show off that he is throwing for the first time since he got the Tommy John surgery. Here is what he said:

“Six months ago today, I walked off the mound not knowing what I’d be told was wrong,”May posted on Instagram. “Today I got to throw a baseball again for the first time. Long road ahead but glad to get the first one out of the way! Can’t wait to be back.”
