Kobe Bryant’s status as a Lakers legend has made him the subject on walls across Los Angeles for years even before his death. In the wake of the tragedy that killed Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people on January of 2020,L.A. artists have splashed fresh murals on walls from Los Angeles to Orange County and old murals have become makeshift memorials. The tributes seem to have a therapeutic effect for both muralists and the people who visit and view them.

An account on Instagram by the name of @KobeMural started the account to keep Kobe's legacy going and honor the man who meant so much to Los Angeles. The account his also used to promote artists and organize locations of all public Kobe and Gianna Bryant art murals in Los Angeles and around the world. Take a look at some of the most moving murals of the six-time NBA champion to grace L.A.’s edifices.

Kobe Bryant would have been 43 today. After his playing career, it was evident Bryant saw the positive impact he had on society, thus he went out of his way to mentor younger players, and was also a huge advocate of women’s basketball.
