Kiké Hernandez Agrees To A Deal With The Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a deal with Kiké Hernandez.

Dating back to late December, the Red Sox were the one team that had really strong interest in Hernandez. The Mets came along and showed some interest but ultimately ended up with the Red Sox. The addition of Hernández would provide a boost to the Red Sox defensively at second base, where he likely would compete with Christian Arroyo, Michael Chavis and Jonathan Arauz for the everyday role.

Hernandez during his time with the Dodgers in the postseason always seemed to provide memorable moments. That includes hitting a game-tying, pinch-hit home run against the Atlanta Braves in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series & the big close out game against the Chicago Cubs to get to the World Series.

Hernandez owned a .230/.270/.410 slash line in the shortened season with five homers and 20 RBI. He also captured his first World Series ring here in Los Angeles in this past 2020 season.
