The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has released the examination reports of Kobe Bryant and the eight other victims who died in Jan. 26 helicopter crash. The reports, released on Friday, confirm previously released information on the manner of death of each of the nine victims.
“On Jan. 28, the cause of death for all nine victims was ruled as blunt trauma,” the coroner’s office wrote. “The manner of death was certified as an accident.”
The autopsy report of the pilot also showed that no drugs or alcohol were in his system. Toxicology tests were performed and, according to the report, "Toxicological testing did not detect the presence of alcohol or drugs of abuse. Substances tested for include: benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, opioids, phencyclidine, and amphetamines."
Zobayan was flying in fog and climbed to get out of the clouds, then plunged into a hillside. Federal authorities are still investigating the accident.
