It looks like a plan is coming together for Major League Baseball to start up the 2020 season in some shape or form.
Echoing Trevor Plouffe's June 10/July 1 tweet from earlier in the week, and Ken Rosenthal's report about the Indians preparing their players on a similar timeline, ESPN's Jeff Passan confirmed on Wednesday that we can expect a serious proposal from MLB to its players for a restart cycle sometime in the next week.
Passan did confirm that June 10 and July 1 are the dates being thrown around that are basically the best-case scenario, which completely makes sense. But it's become clearer with each passing day that, if at all feasible, everyone involved in the game (and at the highest ranks of government) would like to see a safely-executed baseball season.
With a little over a month to go for preparation before things start getting dicey, it makes perfect sense that a plan would be in place and publicly released in the next few days. This is big progress for the potential of an MLB season to start up in the middle of the summer which would be perfect for fans everywhere.
