According to Jon Heyman, it might be a two team race for Gerrit Cole and those two teams are the Dodgers and Yankees. Fred Roggin and Rodney Peete react to the report and if it would be a good idea to hand out long term deal to Cole.
Fred Roggin:
If he wants 7 years at $30 million a year, I am going to have to pass.
Rodney Peete:
Will the Dodgers spend that kind of money? I think he is a lights out pitcher and it is like the sweepstakes for Verlander when that was around. Giving up the salaries of Ryu and Rich Hill..do you do it? probably.
