Fan appreciation day didn't really go as planned for the San Francisco Giants.
Sunday’s season finale between the Dodgers and Giants at Oracle Park was Fan Appreciation Day. The Giants had several giveaways with a grand prize of a Toyota RAV4 going to one lucky fan.
Before the start of the eighth inning of Sunday’s game between the Dodgers and Giants, former Giants pitcher Jeremy Affeldt drove onto the field in the Rav4 and grabbed a microphone to announce the contest winner. When Affeldt pointed to a fan in Section 304, Row 8 and Seat 13, the cameras revealed a woman in a Dodgers jersey was the contest winner.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers won their 106th game of the regular season (most in franchise history.) They will play Game 1 of the NLDS this Thursday at Dodger Stadium with the time and opponent still to be determined.
